STRONG CITY MEMPHIS is an independent 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to community development & urban revitalization in Memphis and surrounding areas. We improve neighborhood quality of life through safe public spaces, clean & green streets, and community-driven economic opportunities.

  • Provide 500 households with basic home improvement resources.
  • Engage 1,000 residents in festivals & neighborhood safety initiatives.
  • Support 5 community-led art projects to build neighborhood pride.

Social Impact

Clean, well-lit, and active spaces reduce negative behavior and build stronger bonds between neighbors.

Urban Equity

We prioritize underserved areas, ensuring residents can access resources for safer homes and streets.

STRONG CITY DAY — Clean & Green Memphis

Date: Saturday, October 26, 2025, 8:00 AM – 3:00 PM
Location: McLemore Ave. & surrounding blocks (South Memphis)

08:00–08:30
Welcome, group assignments, tools & shirts.
08:30–11:00
Trash cleanup, walkway clearing, remove illegal postings, paint over old walls.
11:00–12:30
Tree planting, flower beds, install solar lights at dark spots.
12:30–13:30
Lunch break — snacks by local restaurants.
13:30–15:00
Repaint benches & bins, finish murals; Local Street Market (20 vendors) & live music.

Wrap-up, group photo, publish impact stats.

Volunteer & Sponsorship Needs

  • 200 volunteers across four teams: cleanup • planting • painting • media & outreach.
  • Supplies: gloves, trash bags, paint & brushes, seedlings, solar lights.
  • In-kind: snacks, water, portable speakers, tables & chairs for the street market.

Recently held: Neighborhood Pride Pop-up (09/2025) — 350 residents, 2 murals completed, 15 solar lights installed in alleyways.
